The 502d Contracting Squadron intends to issue a direct award to B-29 Doc’s Friends, Inc 1788 S Airport Road, Wichita, KS 67209 (SAM UEI: KGLCA4L8Y8H) for the Great Texas Airshow 2024.

B-29 Doc’s Friends is a Superfortress and one of 1,644 manufactured in Wichita during World War II. It is one of only two remaining B-29s that are still airworthy and flying today. The mission of Doc’s Friends is to HONOR the men and women who sacrificed so much for the freedom of others, including those who designed, built, maintained, and flew the B-29 during and after WWII. CONNECT people with the rich heritage of the B-29 and allow aviation enthusiasts to experience the thrill of a B-29 up close.

B-29 Doc’s Friends professional and guaranteeing JBSA will receive the quality service necessary for a successful Airshow & Open House. Doc’s Friends B-29 has extensive prior experience as with static display in which they have successfully met the needs of this requirement for hundreds of Airshows. The second aircraft is the B-29 Fifi, who is booked in Montgomery, Alabama on the same weekend 4 April 2024 through 8 April 2024, as the Great Texas Airshow at JBSA Randolph Texas.

This notice is not a request for quotations/proposals or an invitation for bids and no solicitation is available.

The Government intends to procure from only one source under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), Soliciting from a single source.

Interested organizations may submit clear and convincing evidence to support their ability to provide the needed performance services in writing to saul.smith.2@us.af.mil and elizabeth.martinez.7@us.af.mil no later than 10:00 am (CST), 2 January 2024.

The Government does not anticipate receiving responses to this notice. If parties choose to respond, any cost associated with preparation and submission of data or any other cost incurred in response to this announcement are the sole responsibility of the respondent and will not be reimbursed by the Government.
