1.This market research notice is being conducted by Network Contracting Office (NCO) 17 VHA Regional Procurement Office-West (RPOW) 124 E. Hwy 67 Suite 100 Duncanville Texas 75134 for the acquisition of Nuance clinical documentation improvement (CDI). The Government intends to solely negotiate with Alvarez LLC 161 Fort Evans Road NE STE 335 Leesburg, Virginia 20176.

2. Background and Requirement: The CDI Pro software is a part of the National contract of the Nuance Coding Software that VA facilities use. These software products interface with the medical record (CPRS) and VISTA to assist with proper coding of the medical record. CDI software offers a comprehensive portfolio of all powered solutions designed to improve documentation efficiently and effectively to driving clinical documentation excellence across the care continuum.
3. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, Contractors may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the contracting officer whether to continue with the sole source procurement or to provide for competition. Due to technical issues, please allow additional time if you re using electronic means.
Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
The Department of Veterans Affairs, NCO 17 will NOT be responsible for any costs incurred by interested parties in responding to this notice of intent. Only written responses will be considered. All responses from responsible sources will be fully considered. As a result of analyzing responses to this notice of intent, the Government shall determine if a solicitation will be issued. Any prospective contractor must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) in order to be eligible for award. Also, prospective contractor shall be an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) authorized dealer, authorized distributor or authorized reseller to the Department of Veterans Affairs for the proposed equipment/system such that OEM warranty and service are provided and maintained by the OEM. All software licensing, warranty and service associated with the equipment/system shall be in accordance with the OEM terms and conditions. Interested parties are encouraged to furnish information by email only with Response to this Intent to Sole Source. All documents submitted will not be returned. All interested parties shall submit clear and convincing documentation demonstrating their capabilities to satisfy the requirements listed to Contracting Specialist, Michelle Cunningham. The capability documentation should include general information and technical background describing in detail the prospective contractor's capabilities and experience that will demonstrate the ability to support this requirement.
4. Any responses to this notice are requested by 3:00 PM Central Time on Monday, March 18 2024.
