This solicitation has been amended to provide answers to all questions that were received during the solicitation phase.
Please see the attached SF30 for solicitation amendment.
The 1st Armored Division (1AD) requires contractor support to provide a tactical oriented swimming course of instruction (COI). 1AD requires a professional instructor capable of providing basic and advanced-level tactical swimming instruction to unit
members. This training is vital to better prepare Soldiers for operations in aquatic domains.
The contractor shall provide non-personal services for a five (5) day tactical swimming course of instruction (COI) for up to 35 students per session. Training shall be broken up into two (2) sessions per day, a morning session, and an afternoon session. Each COI shall cover and provide the following:
- The Contractor shall provide a 1:20 instructor to student ratio. The total number of students shall be established no more than seven (7) days before a COI.
- Instruction in stroke efficiency, Instruction in open-water application, side stroke and pool fundamentals.
- Instruction in surface swimming with fins, wetsuits, training aids and other combat equipment.
- Practical application shall include both slick as well as in full military uniform and equipment.
- Upon completion of the level 1 course, Soldiers will have obtained the knowledge and skills to properly implement an aquatic strength and conditioning program with focus on injury prevention, rehabilitation and Soldier longevity at the unit level.
- Upon completion of the level 2 course, Soldiers will have obtained the knowledge and skills to successfully execute a simulated wet gap crossing of 50 meters of still water with uniform, personally assigned weapon and basic combat load of ammunition.
