SCOPE AND INTENT: The Plano Independent School District invites proposals from contractors for mowing and ground maintenance services as specified in this solicitation. This Request for Proposals (RFP) contains submission requirements, scope of services, period of services, terms and conditions and other pertinent information for submitting a proper and responsive proposal. To be deemed responsive and qualify for evaluation, a proposal must be timely submitted and must materially satisfy all mandatory requirements identified within this RFP. . Late proposals will not be accepted. The successful Contractor will provide all labor, materials, equipment, and frequency of service necessary to meet the District's and the community's expectations of professionally manicured landscapes. It is the District's intent to award the mowing proposal to one Contractor. Irrigation and landscaping services may be awarded to one or multiple contractors.
TERM: The intended contract for this bid will be for a two (2) year contract period with three (3) one-year renewal periods which will be at the sole discretion of Plano ISD. This contract will begin April 1, 2023.
ESTIMATED EXPENDITURE: The estimated annual expenditure for the mowing contract is approximately $1.3 million per year. The estimated annual expenditure for the Landscape and Irrigation Services is approximately $600,000. These are estimates only and not a guarantee to spend that amount. Need and available budget will determine usage.
ESTIMATED ACREAGE: An estimated 850 acres will be mowed and maintained. There are 112 locations - 86 locations are schools and district facilities; 26 locations are athletic fields. Complete the Cost Worksheet (Attached in Attachments Tab) to calculate mowing cost.
